The closest bus stops to Ukmarjev trg are Tržnica and Zeleni park, both located approximately a 7-minute walk from the square. These stops are well connected to various parts of Koper and the surrounding area, with several city bus lines operated by Arriva.
At the Koper Tržnica stop, the following lines operate: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10.
At the Koper Zeleni park stop, the following lines operate: 1, 2, 5, 6, and 10.
In addition to bus transport, the Koper Railway Station is located within walking distance—about 30 minutes from Ukmarjev trg. It offers rail connections to various locations across Slovenia and serves as a key entry point for visitors arriving by train.
If arriving from Ljubljana or central Slovenia:
Take the A1 motorway toward Koper.
Follow the exit for Koper – Center / Luka / Tržnica.
Continue along Vojkova cesta toward the city center.
At the roundabouts, follow the signs for Luka Koper / Passenger Terminal / Center.
As you approach the coastline, turn toward Ukmarjev trg or the Passenger Terminal.
If arriving from Italy or the coast (e.g. Izola, Portorož):
Drive along the H5 expressway in the direction of Koper.
Take the exit for Koper – Center / Luka and continue as described above.
Ukmarjev trg is located in the old town center, where traffic is partially restricted for private vehicles. It is recommended to park at one of the nearby parking areas:
Potniški Terminal Parking Lot – located right next to the square, paid parking, and the closest possible option.
Belveder Parking Garage – approximately a 5 to 10-minute walk from the square.
Tržnica Parking Lot – approximately a 7-minute walk away.
