ZZ Top is an American rock band formed in 1969 in Texas. The band became famous for their unique blend of blues rock, boogie, and Southern rock, combined with witty lyrics and an iconic image – most notably the long beards of members Billy Gibbons (guitar, vocals) and Dusty Hill (bass, vocals).
With a career spanning over 50 years and classic hits like La Grange, Sharp Dressed Man, and Gimme All Your Lovin’, ZZ Top stands as one of the longest-running rock bands with an unchanged lineup (until Hill’s passing in 2021). Their 1983 album Eliminator was a multi-platinum success and marked the band’s embrace of 1980s synth-rock stylings.
