Parni Valjak is one of the most important and longest-running rock bands from the former Yugoslavia. The band was formed in Zagreb in 1975 and, over more than five decades, has created an extensive musical catalogue of more than 20 studio albums. Their distinctive sound combines rock, pop and emotional ballads, while their songs have left a lasting mark on several generations of listeners.
Among Parni Valjak’s best-known songs are Jesen u meni, Stranica dnevnika, Dođi, Ugasi me, Zastave, Sve još miriše na nju, Uhvati ritam and many others. A special place in the band’s history is held by vocalist Aki Rahimovski, one of its most recognisable members, who passed away in 2022. Following his death, the band continued its musical journey, opening a new chapter with new vocalist Igor Drvenkar.
Parni Valjak remains synonymous with major rock concerts, timeless hits and a strong connection with its audience. Their musical legacy is now complemented by new songs and the current album Kažu pčele umiru, with which the band continues its long-standing creative journey.
