Of Monsters And Men

Of Monsters and Men is an Icelandic indie folk/rock band formed in 2010 in Garðabær, Iceland. The group consists of Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir (lead vocals, guitar), Ragnar "Raggi" Þórhallsson (vocals, guitar), Brynjar Leifsson (guitar), Kristján Páll Kristjánsson (bass), and Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson (drums).

They broke through with the hit single “Little Talks”, which topped international charts and became one of the most recognizable indie songs of the decade. Their debut album My Head Is an Animal (2011) reached number one in Australia, Iceland, and Ireland, and entered the top ten in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

Their follow-up album Beneath the Skin (2015) introduced a more introspective sound and peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. In 2019, they released Fever Dream, exploring a more electronic and experimental sonic direction.

The band is known for their ability to tell stories through music, often infused with elements of Icelandic folklore and natural imagery. Their songs have been featured in various film and television projects—including “Silhouettes” for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and “Sinking Man” for The Walking Dead.
