Maksim Mrvica – SEGMENTI WORLD TOUR II
After two sold-out concerts at Cankarjev dom, Maksim Mrvica announces a new musical spectacle on 22 June 2026 at Križanke in Ljubljana.
Following his major comeback and two sold-out performances at Cankarjev dom, the internationally renowned piano virtuoso returns to Slovenian audiences with a new concert spectacle as part of the SEGMENTI II tour, which will take place on 22 June 2026 at Križanke.
With this concert, Maksim continues his successful SEGMENTI WORLD TOUR, through which he presents his twelfth studio album, Segmenti. The tour has so far impressed audiences and critics worldwide – from London, Paris, and Sydney to Beijing, Zagreb, and Ljubljana – reaffirming Maksim’s status as one of the most successful crossover pianists of our time.
“Ljubljana’s audience holds a special place in my heart. The energy I feel here is incredible, and I am very happy to be returning, this time to the beautiful Križanke,” says Maksim.
After exceptional demand and two sold-out concerts at Cankarjev dom, SEGMENTI II at Križanke brings a special summer chapter of the tour, featuring new repertoire while also giving the audience the opportunity to hear some of his most famous works, including timeless arrangements such as Exodus, Game of Thrones, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The program combines classical music and global hits, where Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Prokofiev, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky meet music legends such as ABBA and Queen – all in Maksim’s distinctive and powerful interpretation.
One of the central highlights of the concert will be Maksim’s performance of “Prokofiev Fantasy,” which recently received its own music video, released on his official YouTube channel. The video, directed by Filip Koludrović, visually emphasizes the emotional and technical strength of the performance through cinematic editing and striking imagery. It showcases the full range of Maksim’s artistic expression, from astonishing technical precision to raw expressiveness.
“Prokofiev Fantasy” is conceived as a unified musical work composed of three pieces by Sergei Prokofiev. The first part is the virtuosic Toccata, which Maksim included in his repertoire as a young pianist. The second part features emotional themes from Prokofiev’s ballet Romeo and Juliet in an arrangement by John Lenehan. The climax of the piece is the legendary Coda from the Third Piano Concerto, one of the most famous and technically demanding piano passages ever written.
“This piece is one of the most technically challenging works I have ever recorded. I have loved the Third Concerto since childhood and always dreamed of performing it. For the album, I decided to keep the Coda in its original form, without changing a single note. It is extremely difficult to perform, yet at the same time incredibly fun and full of joy. I cannot wait to play it live and see the audience’s reaction around the world,” said Maksim.
The strong public interest is also confirmed by Alen Ključe, director of Star produkcija and organizer of the concert, who expressed pride in the exceptional success:
“The audience has already filled the Gallus Hall at Cankarjev dom twice, and at Križanke Maksim will once again prove why his performances transcend the boundaries of classical music and transform into an unforgettable experience that remains in the memory forever,” said Ključe.
