John Legend

John Legend (born John Roger Stephens, December 28, 1978, Springfield, Ohio, USA) is an American singer, songwriter, pianist, producer, and actor, known for his warm soul voice, romantic ballads, and socially engaged artistry.

He began his career as a backing musician and pianist, collaborating with artists such as Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Kanye West, and Jay-Z before releasing his debut album Get Lifted in 2004, which earned him three Grammy Awards and produced hits like Ordinary People, Used to Love U, and So High.

With albums such as Once Again (2006), Evolver (2008), and Love in the Future (2013), Legend cemented his status as one of the key figures in contemporary R&B. His ballad All of Me (2013), dedicated to his wife Chrissy Teigen, became a global phenomenon, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and remaining one of the most popular love songs of the 21st century.

Legend is among the rare artists to have achieved EGOT status (winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony). He won the Oscar for Glory from the film Selma (2014), co-written with Common. Beyond music, he is active as a producer and mentor on The Voice and is widely recognized for his humanitarian work and advocacy on human rights, criminal justice reform, and education.
