Jelena Tomašević

Jelena Tomašević (born November 1, 1983, in Negotin, raised in Kragujevac) is one of the most recognized and acclaimed pop and ethno-pop singers in Serbia. She began her musical journey as a child—winning the Šarenijada festival at the age of eight and later impressing audiences as a member of the Abrašević folklore ensemble.

Her major breakthrough came in 2005 at the Beovizija festival with the song “Jutro,” written for her by Željko Joksimović. She gained wider international recognition three years later when she represented Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade with the song “Oro,” finishing in an excellent 6th place.

Her debut album Panta Rei (2008) included several hits such as “Jutro,” “Košava,” “Okeani,” and “Ne dam na tebe,” and featured multilingual versions of “Oro.” The album was highly successful both in Serbia and abroad.

Following the album Ime moje (2012), she returned in May 2024 with her third studio album Iskrena, which marked a return to heartfelt ballads and a contemporary pop sound. Singles like “Suncokret,” “Diraj mi usne,” “Sve ispočetka,” and the title track were very well received.

Her performances are known for their emotional depth, powerful vocal delivery, and timeless repertoire.

Tomašević also served as a long-time judge on the popular show Pinkove Zvezdice (2014–2018), where she supported young talents with her expertise and warmth.
