Jason Derulo (born September 21, 1989 in Miramar, Florida, as Jason Joel Desrouleaux) is a globally recognized singer, songwriter, dancer, and visual performer who launched his solo career in 2009. Since then, he has sold over 250 million singles worldwide, earned fourteen platinum singles in the U.S., and made a significant mark on contemporary dance-pop music.
His fifth studio album, Nu King, released in February 2024, represents a turning point in his creative vision. The album features both solo tracks and collaborations with major artists such as Michael Bublé, Quavo, Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, and Meghan Trainor. It introduced greater creative freedom and a strong visual aesthetic, marking his first major release following his departure from major label contracts.
In 2025, Derulo released the single “You DJ, I’ll Drive”, which premiered on iHeartRadio on June 15 as a heartfelt tribute for Father’s Day and a teaser of his next creative chapter. At the same time, he announced his directorial debut, with plans to helm and produce several feature films — including a comedy, a Christmas film, and a Marvel-inspired story — aiming for more control over his artistic output.
As part of his Nu King World Tour, Derulo is performing across Europe, Asia, and North America.
His concerts are known for being high-energy spectacles, filled with interactivity, choreography, and elaborate visual effects. Iconic hits such as “Wiggle”, “Talk Dirty”, “Whatcha Say”, “Savage Love”, and “Take You Dancing” remain highlights of his live shows.
