Jack White (John Anthony Gillis, born July 9, 1975, in Detroit) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer, and occasional actor. As the co-founder of the iconic band The White Stripes, he rose to prominence as a central figure of modern garage rock, known for his raw sound, minimalist aesthetic, and electrifying presence.
In July 2024, he surprise-released his sixth solo album, No Name, initially on vinyl, followed by a digital release in August. Musically, the album is a bold blend of garage rock, blues, and punk energy. Critics praised it as honest, intense, and introspective—deliberately distanced from the demands of the mainstream. The record earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.
To support the release, he embarked on the No Name Tour, starting in Hong Kong in December 2024 and running through May 2025, with shows across Asia, Australia, North America, and Europe. The tour stood out for its spontaneity—concerts were often announced only days in advance and held in intimate venues like clubs, festivals, and even private courtyards, creating a uniquely personal connection with audiences.
New European dates are scheduled for late 2025, including shows in France, the Netherlands, Scotland, and England. In September, Jack will also perform at the renowned Bourbon & Beyond festival in the U.S.
One of the tour’s most memorable moments came in New York City, where Jack invited his 18-year-old daughter Scarlett on stage to join him on bass. Similarly, his Chicago stop included a pop-up exhibition of vintage tour posters and memorabilia, offering fans an immersive retrospective of his career.
His concerts are anything but predictable: alongside fresh material from No Name (such as Old Scratch Blues), he performs crowd favorites like Seven Nation Army and Hotel Yorba, often spicing things up with spontaneous improvisations or unexpected covers, including Born Under a Bad Sign.
