When Global Kryner released their first album in 2004, they took the music world by storm. The idea was simple yet ingenious: take the legendary Oberkrainer sound of Slavko Avsenik, blend it with international hits, and add a touch of jazz and plenty of musical playfulness. It proved to be a recipe for success. German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung was so impressed that it even described the band as an “eierlegende Wollmilchsau”, a German expression for something that combines practically everything one could wish for. Along the way, a new verb was even coined: “verkrynern”, meaning to transform a song into the distinctive style of Global Kryner.
What followed was an extraordinary run of radio and television appearances. The band played hundreds of concerts across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Ukraine, with their journey taking them all the way to Mexico. After years of intensive and demanding touring, the band bid farewell to the stage in 2013.
But their love for music never faded. Quite the opposite. Now Global Kryner are back with “2nd Love”!
