Flogging Molly

Flogging Molly is an Irish-American band that blends Celtic folk music with punk rock. Founded in 1997 in Los Angeles, the band is fronted by Dubliner Dave King, former lead singer of the hard rock band Fastway. The lineup also includes Bridget Regan (violin, tin whistle), Dennis Casey (guitar), Matt Hensley (accordion), Nathen Maxwell (bass), Spencer Swain (mandolin, banjo), and Mike Alonso (drums).

Their music is distinguished by its high energy and the use of traditional Irish instruments such as the violin, mandolin, and accordion, with lyrics that often explore Irish history, politics, love, and personal struggles. The band has released seven studio albums, including Swagger (2000), Drunken Lullabies (2002), Float (2008), Speed of Darkness (2011), Life Is Good (2017), and Anthem (2022).

They are known for their incredibly energetic live shows and loyal fanbase, which they built primarily through relentless touring. A unique part of their work is the annual Salty Dog Cruise, a music cruise featuring performances by the band and various other punk and folk artists.
