Fat Freddy's Drop

Fat Freddy’s Drop is widely regarded as one of the world’s finest live acts, known for their high-energy performances and rich fusion of genres. Formed in 1999 on Wellington’s underground scene, the independent 8-piece blends soul, reggae, jazz, rock, house, and more. Their debut album Based On A True Story earned multiple awards and became Aotearoa’s longest-charting album.

In 2026, the band embarks on the 21st Anniversary Tour of that landmark album, also paying tribute to founding member DJ Fitchie. Since 2003, they have toured the UK and Europe extensively, growing from small clubs to major venues and festivals, cementing their reputation as a powerful live force.
