Dub Pistols are an English electronic/big beat band founded in 1996 by Barry Ashworth and Jason O’Bryan in London. They blend genres like dub, big beat, hip hop, ska, and electronic, earning a reputation as one of the tightest live acts around. Their breakthrough came with early singles “There’s Gonna Be a Riot” and “Best Got Better” and debut album Point Blank in 1998.
Over the years they've released several albums—Six Million Ways to Live (2001), Speakers and Tweeters (2007) featuring Terry Hall, Rum & Coke (2009), Return of the Pistoleros (2015), Crazy Diamonds (2017), Addict (2020), and Frontline (2023). They’ve also contributed to soundtracks for films like Blade II, Bad Company, and Piranha 3D, and made acclaimed remixes for Ian Brown, Limp Bizkit, Moby, The Crystal Method, and Lily Allen.
Their live shows are legendary, earning them titles like “Best UK Live Act” in Breakspoll awards and becoming regulars at major festivals like Glastonbury, Bestival, and Beat Herder.
