Bullet for My Valentine (BFMV) is a Welsh heavy metal band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The current lineup consists of Matthew Tuck (vocals, rhythm guitar), Michael “Padge” Paget (lead guitar), Jamie Mathias (bass), and Jason Bowld (drums). The band gained worldwide recognition with their breakthrough album The Poison (2005), which is considered a metalcore classic, solidifying their signature sound — a fusion of heavy riffs, melodic choruses, and aggressive vocal interplay.
They followed up with successful albums including Scream Aim Fire (2008), Fever (2010), Temper Temper (2013), Venom (2015), Gravity (2018), and Bullet for My Valentine (2021), consistently topping metal charts and cementing their place as one of the most influential bands on the modern metal scene.
In 2025, they celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Poison with a co-headlining North American tour titled The Poisoned Ascendancy, alongside American metal band Trivium. Both bands performed their iconic albums (The Poison and Ascendancy) in full, with support from August Burns Red and Sylosis. Critics described the tour as “an eruption of intensity and nostalgia,” while fans welcomed the return of classic tracks like "4 Words (To Choke Upon)," "All These Things I Hate," and "Tears Don’t Fall."
Their eighth studio album is currently in the works, with around 13 demo tracks prepared. The release is expected either in late 2025 or early 2026. Guitarist Padge hinted that the new material will be “very heavy, fresh, and experimental,” while still staying true to the band’s roots.
Bullet for My Valentine continues to represent an explosive blend of melody and aggression — a band that, more than two decades after their breakthrough, still delivers relentless live energy and a sound that keeps pushing the boundaries of the metal genre.
