Black Country, New Road is an English rock band formed in Cambridge in 2018. The original lineup consisted of Tyler Hyde, Lewis Evans, Georgia Ellery, May Kershaw, Charlie Wayne, and Isaac Wood, with guitarist Luke Mark joining the group a year later. They first drew attention with the singles “Athens, France” and “Sunglasses,” and firmly established themselves with their debut album For the First Time (2021), which received widespread critical acclaim, earned a Mercury Prize nomination, and reached No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart.
