Ana Stanić (born December 8, 1975, in Niš, Serbia) is one of the most prominent figures on the Serbian pop-rock and R&B scene, known for her distinctive vocal interpretation, songwriting prowess, and artistic maturity. She began her music career in the 1990s as a member of the popular pop duo Moby Dick, with whom she sold over 300,000 records across the former Yugoslavia and performed at the iconic Sava Centar in Belgrade.
She launched her solo career in 1998 with the album Metar iznad asfalta, featuring the hit single “Molila sam anđele,” which she performed the same year at the Pjesma Mediterana festival in Budva. This was followed by the albums Ana Stanić (1999), Vidim te kad (1999), and Tri (2002), featuring well-known songs such as “Grad,” “Sunčan dan,” and the iconic “20, 30 godina,” one of her most recognizable tracks.
In total, she has released six studio albums, including U ogledalu (2004), which included a collaboration with Vlatko Georgiev, and Sudar (2008), produced by Sky Wikluh and Mirko Vukomanović. The latter was promoted with a high-profile rooftop performance at a military barracks in Belgrade—one of the most unique concerts of that time. Her most recent album, Priča za pamćenje, was released in 2015.
Her music is known for its melodic richness, emotional energy, and heartfelt vocal delivery. The recurring themes in her lyrics include love, inner struggle, and female strength. Songs such as “Vidim te kad…,” “Pogrešan,” “Sudar,” and the aforementioned “20, 30 godina” have become part of the modern Balkan pop canon.
In addition to her music career, Ana Stanić has also made a mark as a film producer. In 2001, she produced the debut film Absolute 100 by director Srdan Golubović, which won eight festival awards. She earned her degree from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade in 2008.
She is actively engaged in social awareness campaigns as well. Ana is an ambassador for Dance4Life, collaborates with the MODS children’s foundation, and advocates for HIV/AIDS awareness and children’s rights.
