About - Aleksandra Kovač
Aleksandra Kovač is a Serbian singer‑songwriter, producer, and film composer born in Belgrade in 1972. She began her musical journey in 1989 alongside her sister Kristina as part of the pop‑funk duo K2, which quickly achieved chart‑topping success in Yugoslavia and later expanded into the Spanish market through EMI.
Launching her solo career in 2001, Aleksandra released her first EP You and Me, showcasing her soulful R&B/pop sound. Her 2006 album Med i mleko ("Honey and Milk") became one of the best‑selling records in the region, earning her the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Adria Act. Beyond performing, she founded RAproduction, composing and producing for theater, film, TV, and commercials—gaining recognition including a BAFTA Scotland New Talent nomination in 2015.
She also serves as a TV personality (judge on X Factor Adria), an educator in film music, and a philanthropist supporting children’s vocal education and animal rights.
In 2024, Aleksandra was awarded Serbia’s Order of Karađorđe's Star (third degree), honoring her contributions to music and film.
