Željko Samardžić is one of the most popular folk-pop singers in the region. He currently lives and works in Belgrade. He is a Serb from Mostar, and in 1992, due to the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he relocated with his family to Belgrade, where his professional music career began to rise.
He started his musical journey performing in local cafés and taverns, but gained wider public attention in 1995 at the Pjesma Mediterana festival in Budva, with the song "Sipajte mi još jedan viski" ("Pour Me One More Whiskey"). This success opened the doors for him to record his first album in Belgrade, with the support of renowned music creators such as Marina Tucaković and Aleksandar "Futa" Radulović.
His songs—rich in emotion, nostalgia, and love stories—have touched audiences across the former Yugoslavia. With his powerful voice and genuine interpretive style, he has built a bridge between Balkan musical tradition and contemporary pop expression.
