Psihomodo Pop is a legendary Croatian rock band formed in 1983 in Zagreb, fronted from the start by charismatic lead singer Davor Gobac – vocalist, lyricist, and irrepressible showman known for his provocative humor, high-energy performances, and uninhibited stage antics. The original core lineup also included Saša Novak Radulović (guitar), Tigran Kalebota (drums), Smiljan Paradiš – Šparka (bass), and Bruno Zorc (keyboards).
Their sound blends punk, new wave, and classic rock’n’roll, driven by catchy guitar riffs, punchy choruses, and ironic, often satirical lyrics. They broke through with the album Godina zmaja (1988), which produced iconic hits such as Ja volim samo sebe, Frida, and Nema nje (al’ ima drugog), cementing their place among the key names of the former Yugoslav rock scene.
The 1990s brought further success with songs like Osjećam se haj, Ramona, and Donna, along with albums Sexy Magazin (1990), Tko je ubio Mickey Mousa (1992), and Srebrne svinje (1993), solidifying their status as the “bad boys” of regional rock. Their image and music have remained true to their roots – raw sound, direct humor, and explosive stage energy.
In the 2000s, they released albums such as Debakl (2000), Jeee! Jeee! Jeee! (2004), Ćiribu Ćiriba (2019), and Digitalno nebo (2020), all while maintaining a heavy touring schedule. The band continues to thrill audiences at festivals and club shows across the region, with concerts renowned for their wild atmosphere and unrepeatable crowd interaction.
