The 31st edition of the No Borders Music Festival announces a new double date: Tom Smith (Editors) will perform on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Laghi di Fusine at 11:00 a.m., followed at 2:00 p.m. by Elvis Costello & The Imposters with Charlie Sexton.
Worldwide known as the frontman of Editors, Tom Smith launched his solo career with the single "Lights of New York City," released on Play Again Sam on June 19th. The song also features a video directed and produced by Niall Trask.
"Lights of New York City" mourns lost youth, a song that looks back at the wide-eyed wonder of an earlier chapter in my life. says the British singer and guitarist, who with this single demonstrates his intention to take a very different path from the explosive energy of EBM, his last album with Editors, released in 2022. The song also features a collaboration with Irish singer-songwriter Iain Archer, who helped him realize his ideas for his first solo project after more than 20 years of creating music with Editors and a couple of albums with Andy Burrows, in the duo known as Smith & Burrows.
Elvis Costello, born in London as D.P. MacManus, is a singer-songwriter and musician with a career spanning over fifty years. He debuted in 1977 and has since built an extremely broad and diverse career, performing both as a soloist and with bands such as The Attractions and The Imposters. Throughout his career, he has performed worldwide, including in major symphony halls, collaborating with orchestras and artists of a wide variety of genres, from jazz to pop to folk and classical music.
The author of over 600 songs, he has worked with international music giants such as Paul McCartney, Johnny Cash, and Diana Krall, writing both for himself and for other artists. His compositions have been covered by numerous musicians, confirming his influence on the music scene.
In addition to his recording career, which includes more than 35 albums, Costello has composed music for film, theater, and ballet, published an autobiography, and hosted music television programs. In recent years, he has continued to produce new works, maintaining a strong artistic presence.
Over the course of his career, he has received numerous awards, including Grammy Awards, a BAFTA, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2020, he was awarded the OBE, a recognition of his contribution to contemporary music.
