The Forestglade Festival, a legendary rock and alternative festival, was first held in 1995 in Wiesen, Burgenland. It quickly grew into one of Austria’s most beloved alternative festivals, attracting international top acts such as Bush, Die Toten Hosen, Nine Inch Nails, Faithless, Rammstein, and Marilyn Manson.
Performances by artists like Placebo, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Cypress Hill, Wir sind Helden, Garbage, New Model Army, Starsailor, Sum 41, Fettes Brot, Seeed, Tocotronic, The Hives, and The Frames were especially celebrated, turning the festival into a kind of electric pilgrimage site for fans of guitar riffs and rebellious energy.
In 2006, the festival was canceled due to severe weather, and in 2007 it paused for the first time. A comeback followed in 2010, with acts such as Die Fantastischen Vier, Faith No More, Gossip, and The Cranberries reigniting the stage. The era ultimately came to an end in 2012 with performances by Therapy?, Billy Idol, and Incubus.
In 2025, the cult festival returned under the name “REMEMBER Forestglade” in the Esterházy Palace Park, carrying the nostalgic motto: “…when we were wild and young.”
