In the heart of Salzburg's old city the "Kavernen 1595" offer three attractive event halls. The number 1595 refers to the conception date of the vaulted ceiling caverns in the "Mönchsberg". A historically-charged atmosphere and state of the art technology go hand in hand to create a remarkable meeting place for an "encounter in the mountain."
Cavalleria Rusticana / Der Bajazzo

Wagner conducted the premiere at the Semper Oper in Dresden, 1843. This work shows early attempts at operatic styles that would characterise his later music dramas. In Der fliegende Holländer Wagner uses a number of leitmotifs (literally, "leading motifs") associated with the characters and themes. The leitmotifs are all introduced in the overture, which begins with a well-known ocean or storm motif before moving into the Dutchman and Senta motifs.

E. T. A. Hoffmann produced tales full of comical, witty and sometimes disconcerting imagination. Into the cosy world of the German bourgeoisie he placed demons, sorceresses and changelings. Sometimes these encounters bring happiness, sometimes ruination. It is also often unclear whether the events are real or merely in the heads of the characters. Orchestra: Wiener Symphoniker.
6. Dancer against Cancer – Frühlingsball

Mozart Requiem Karlskirche – St. Charles‘ Church
This requiem was Mozart’s last composition and one of his most impressive and famous works with lots of legends around it. On his deathbed he allegedly performed the “lacrimosa” together with friends. Parts of the requiem were performed at Mozart’s own funeral ; the composition was completed by his student Franz Xaver Süßmayer from already existing drafts. Nowadays, the requiem is very popular mostly because of its mysterious story of origin as well as the importance of the composition itself: Unique music that stretches to eternity!
Vivaldis 4 Seasons Karlskirche – St. Charles‘ Church
"The 4 Seasons" consists of four revolutionary violin concerts, each portraying a season. Four sonnets (probably by Vivaldi) are the guideline for this masterpiece, which leads us to an own world of wild thunderstorms and lightning, breaking ice and singing birds, sleeping shepherd boy, a shoot and other distinctive features.
