Born as Dywane Thomas Jr., MonoNeon has emerged as a true virtuoso, defying conventions and pushing the boundaries of what is possible on the bass guitar. With his remarkable talent, unique style, and unyielding creativity, he has garnered widespread acclaim and left an indelible mark on the world of music. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of musical genres, including funk, soul, jazz, rock, and experimental approaches that have won him comparisons to John Cage, MonoNeon developed a distinctive style that seamlessly blends these influences into a captivating sonic tapestry, spun from bass lines that are rich with groove and intricacy.
Regularly uploading masterful viral videos of his colorful “readymade” bass playing to YouTube, MonoNeon has also captured the attention of numerous music icons, and he had the privilege of collaborating with some of the industry's greatest luminaries. Notably, his partnership with the legendary Prince, including playing in the late musicians last band, further solidified MonoNeon's status as a ground-breaking artist.
