Event details

Last November, Laibach released its long-awaited album The Sound of Music (published by Mute), the idea for which arose from the group's invitation to North Korea in 2015. The album was released in various formats: vinyl, CD, and as a supplement to the Blu-ray edition of the Liberation Day documentary film. The album garnered a great deal of attention and reviews in prominent publications such as the Guardian, the Independent, and Rolling Stone. The New York Times International Edition even published a front-page article on the release. The Sound of Music was ranked among the top fifty (The Quietus), and the top twenty-five (Louder Than War) albums of 2018.

Laibach will present the album live in February and March 2019 on a thirty-one concert tour of Europe, and in Slovenia with two special and extended shows: 23 April at SNG Maribor and 15 May at Cankarjev Dom. In addition to Marina Martensson and Boris Benko, the children's choir Edelweiss and the string sextet Do-Re-Mi with Primoz Hladnik on synth will join Laibach on stage, while the audience will also be addressed by his holiness Peter Mlakar.
