The Streets will present their groundbreaking album A Grand Don’t Come For Free live in its entirety for the first time in 2026.
Released in 2004, A Grand Don’t Come For Free remains one of the most important and influential British albums of the 21st century. It debuted at number one on the UK charts, achieved multi-platinum status, and produced iconic singles such as Dry Your Eyes, Fit But You Know It, and Blinded By The Lights. The album cemented Mike Skinner’s reputation as one of the UK’s most original and significant artists, capturing the humor, heartbreak, and raw emotions of everyday life with rare poetic clarity.
On this tour, the album will be performed in full for the first time, giving fans the opportunity to experience the complete story exactly as it was intended: a cinematic journey through love, loss, chaos, heartbreak, and hope, delivered with Skinner’s signature honesty and sharp insight.
“A Grand Don’t Come For Free was a special moment—for me and for everyone who grew up with it. I wrote it as a story from beginning to end and even studied screenwriting to shape it, without having any idea how people would respond. We were looking for something bold for the live show and ended up here: some tracks have never been played live, others haven’t appeared in years. It’s a new challenge to bring the whole journey to life on stage, but I’ve got an incredible band and we give it everything every night. So I’m sure every show will feel like a party as we try to figure out what happened to the thousand pounds,” says Mike Skinner.
The newly announced tour marks another chapter in what has already been a highly productive period for Skinner. His debut feature film, the DIY noir musical The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light, was released in full on YouTube. He also reworked And The Beat Goes On for John Lewis’ centenary campaign, while his energetic single Brave St Andrew became the theme song for an Amazon documentary about Birmingham City. Earlier this year, he performed on the opening night of the Meltdown festival curated by Little Simz at the Royal Festival Hall, receiving strong acclaim from both fans and critics. Through his ongoing YouTube series, he also offers fans an unfiltered look behind the scenes of his creative process, and in September 2025 he released Utopia, a standalone statement single pointing toward what’s next.
These unique A Grand Don’t Come For Free shows will also take place twice as open-air events in Austria: on June 17 at the Arena Open Air in Vienna and on June 18 in Linz at the Frischluft Open Air (Posthof Linz).
