The best Cross-Country skiers return to Planica!
After two years the FIS Cross-Country World Cup will return to Slovenia. The best athletes of the sport will be once again hosted by the cradle of Nordic skiing - Planica. The valley where atmosphere is always amazing and where sports events are always unforgettable will also welcome the most faithful fans.
The first half of the weekend, Saturday, January 20th, is intended for one of the most interesting disciplines – sprint in classic technique, where the explosiveness and strength of the athletes will express itself. On Sunday, January 21st, you will be able to see both distance trials, which will show who has the most stamina. Ladies will compete in 10km and men in 15km in classic technique.
On the same weekend also the youngest will have a chance to have lots of fun. Right next to the Cross-Country stadium World Snow Day event will take place. Kids will have a chance to try themselves out in all sorts of different winter sports – ski jumping, Cross-Country, snowboarding, sledding, hockey and more. All activities will be free of charge!

World Snow Day in Planica
On 20th and 21st January 2018, the valley below Mt. Ponce in Planica will for the seventh consecutive year host the World Snow Day event. On both days the event will take place from 9:00 till 15:00.
Once again there will be a large number of on-snow activities. At the outstanding miniature ski jumping hill called Mini Planica, children will get a chance to experience their first ski jumps, and cross-country skiing will be guided by professional instructors.
Other activities will include sledding, tubing, snow hockey and snow football, search for hidden treasure, snow polygon and much more.
A visit to the venue, which will take place in the outrun of the small ski-jumping hills in Planica, will be free for all visitors. Equipment rentals and professional guidance of individual activities will be available free of charge for all participants.
We will again spend amazing day in Planica with our children and their big smiles!
