Roger Waters

Roger Waters is a British musician, born on September 6, 1943, in Great Bookham, Surrey, best known as the co-founder, bassist, chief lyricist, and conceptual leader of the band Pink Floyd. After Syd Barrett's departure in 1968, he took over the band's artistic direction, creating some of the most influential albums in rock history, such as The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), and The Wall (1979). In 1985, due to creative differences, he left Pink Floyd and embarked on a successful solo career with albums like The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking (1984), Radio K.A.O.S. (1987), Amused to Death (1992), and Is This the Life We Really Want? (2017). His music often explores political and social themes, particularly opposition to wars and support for the rights of the oppressed. In 2023, to mark the 50th anniversary, he released The Dark Side of the Moon Redux, a new interpretation of Pink Floyd's classic album, which received mixed reviews.
