Die Fledermaus” shows that Roland Petit epitomizes the esprit of French ballet like no other artist. Petit wrote his “Fledermaus” based on the masterwork of Viennese operetta in 1979 in Marseille. Integrating the spirit of the Parisian original in his plot, the grandmaster of show ballet turned Johann Strauß’ music into a brilliant fireworks of dance, sparkling with Viennese charm and the proverbial Parisian joie de vivre.
