Komaj čakam na dogodek!
by Marija Levič at Dvorana Stožice Ljubljana on 08.10.2017Vedno je bla moja želja, da tega umetnika slišim v živo. Komaj čakam na dogodek. Pa še to, ker se koncert nekako pokriva z mojim rojstnim dnem, me je nanj povabil moj zet. Pa naj še kdo reče, če nimam krasnega zeta.
Umetnost ali samo denar?

Plácido Domingo, one of the finest and most influential singing actors in the history of opera, is performing for the first time in Slovenia. Known as “the king of opera”, he is also a conductor and a major force as an opera administrator in his role as Eli and Edythe Broad General Director of LA Opera. His repertoire now encompasses 147 roles, a number unmatched by any other tenor in history, with more than 3800 career performances. His more than 100 recordings of complete operas, compilations of arias and duets, and crossover discs have earned him 12 Grammy Awards, including three Latin Grammys, and he has made more than 50 music videos and won two Emmy Awards. In addition to three feature opera films—Carmen, La Traviata and Otello—he voiced the role of Monte in Beverly Hills Chihuahua, played himself on The Simpsons, and his telecast of Tosca from the authentic settings in Rome was seen by more than one billion people in 117 countries.
“It is my great pleasure to return to your beautiful part of the world, and I am anticipating this visit with enthusiasm.
The musical program is being planned to feature a combination of styles. On the first part, some operatic selections of works by Giuseppe Verdi and other great composers- including duets from La Traviata and Il Trovatore featuring Micaela Oeste and Camilla Titinger, two talented young sopranos in duet with myself; in addition will be several favorite operatic solo arias.
The second half of the program will feature some of my personal selections from the Spanish “Zarzuela” and Latin ‘crossover’ song repertoire, with some special surprises included as well.
Ljubljana has a great opera tradition, including one of the worlds most beautiful opera houses (where the great Zinka Milanov made her debut), in addition to an important orchestral tradition.
We are looking forward to an enjoyable evening with you," said Mr. Domingo upon announcement of the concert in tiny European country.
RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra with conductor Patrik Greblo will accompany Mr. Domingo on the show that is most anticipated concert of the year.
